BLACK RAIN

BLACK RAIN

Bold & Rich

Roast - Medium/Dark

Great For - Espresso, Stove Top, Aeropress

Black Rain is our darker expression of the same single origin coffee behind Black Dog, developed further in the roast to create a richer, fuller-bodied cup with a more traditional profile. We love it for its deep, smooth character and comforting intensity, whether pulled as a bold espresso or brewed slow in a French Press

Story

Grown in Rwanda’s renowned “Land of a Thousand Hills,” Inzovu is a fully washed coffee produced by smallholder farmers working in partnership with the Rwanda Trading Company (RTC). Named after the Kinyarwanda word for “elephant,” Inzovu reflects both the strength of the farming communities behind the coffee and the distinctive character of Rwandan lots.

This coffee brings together carefully selected beans from growers across the Kigali region, creating a cup that is both vibrant and balanced. By sourcing from multiple washing stations, RTC is able to maintain consistency year after year while still showcasing the bright fruit character and refined sweetness that make Rwandan coffees so distinctive.

Grown at elevations between 1,700 and 2,000 metres above sea level, the coffee benefits from rich volcanic soils and Rwanda’s cool high-altitude climate. Alongside purchasing cherries at fair prices, RTC supports farming communities through agronomy training, farm rejuvenation programmes, and the distribution of millions of new coffee seedlings to help secure the future of coffee production in the region.

After harvest, the cherries are fully washed to highlight clarity and structure in the cup. The coffee is then carefully milled, graded, and hand-sorted in Kigali before export, ensuring a clean and expressive final profile.
