Moving Towards More Sustainable Packaging

At Freda Coffee, we are always looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact. One of the biggest changes we have made recently is in our packaging. From now on, your coffee will arrive in fully compostable paper bags and cardboard boxes that can go straight into your household paper recycling.

We made this switch because while plastic bags may look recyclable, the reality in the UK is different. Most councils cannot sort and recycle soft plastics properly, which means they often end up in general waste or landfill. By moving to paper-based packaging, we can be sure that your empty coffee bag has a much better chance of being recycled or composted.

This small change makes a big difference over time. Every bag you recycle keeps more plastic out of the waste stream and reduces the amount of material that struggles to find a second life.

We know sustainability is a journey, and this is just one step. But it’s one we’re proud to take, and we’re excited that every cup of Freda Coffee you brew is now a little kinder to the planet.
